THURSDAY, MARCH 12
Guardian Jiu-Jitsu Team:
The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation continues to evolve. There are now multiple confirmed cases in our state, and in Indiana. Michigan colleges and universities have sent their students home. Many corporations have implemented mandatory work-from-home policies. The NBA, MLB, and NHL have suspended their seasons. The primary goal of these decisions is to slow down the spread of the disease.
The complete clinical picture with regard to COVID-19 is not fully known. Reported illnesses have ranged from very mild to severe, including illness resulting in death. Older people and people of all ages with severe underlying health conditions - like heart disease, lung disease and diabetes, for example - seem to be at higher risk of developing serious COVID-19 illness. We need to work together to protect these at-risk populations.
Therefore, Kevin and I have decided that all classes and activities at Guardian Jiu-Jitsu are CANCELLED through April 12, 2020.
Any members' auto-payments scheduled to occur from March 13 through April 12 will not be charged, to compensate for the cancellations.
Training is an important part of our lives, so know that this decision isn't one we take lightly.
Please understand that closing the gym for even one month costs us many thousands of dollars. The financial impact is severe for a small business like ours. That said, the health and safety of our students and our community must take precedence.
All of you will be in our prayers in the coming days. Please take all necessary precautions so that you and your family stay safe.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (also commonly known as "BJJ," "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu," or just "Jiu-Jitsu") is a martial art that focuses on grappling to establish dominant control of an opponent, and the use of submission holds to force an opponent to "tap out." BJJ is founded on the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training is a great way to get in shape while learning effective self defense. The best part: it’s a whole lot of fun!
The Guardian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Program offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for children ages 6 to 15. We welcome kids of all skill levels, from experienced Jiu-Jitsu students to complete beginners.
How do kids benefit when they train Jiu-Jitsu? Besides learning self defense techniques, kids who train Jiu-Jitsu develop physical attributes, including balance, coordination and motor skills. Jiu-Jitsu also helps children develop confidence, discipline, and other virtues which translate “off the mat” in others areas of life.
The Guardian Kickboxing Program offers training for teens and adult men and women, ages 16 and up.
We welcome students of all skill levels, from experienced kickboxers, to complete beginners.
Our kickboxing program stresses fundamentals, and is an excellent complement to Jiu-Jitsu training. Plus, it's a fun and intense workout!
Get fit... develop confidence... and unleash your inner strength!
Our Women's Martial Arts Program offers classes in both Jiu-Jitsu as well as kickboxing.
These women's martial arts classes offer a great workout, and are appropriate for all skill levels. Many of our students begin with little to no experience, so whether you're an advanced student, or a complete beginner, you can jump right in.
